Call for Abstracts

Guidelines for Submission of Abstracts

1Required Author Information

Each abstract must contain the following information about the author(s):

  • Title of Abstract
  • Name of Author(s)
  • Affiliation (indicate where you are coming from)
  • Geographic Focus of Work (University, School or Community)
  • Presentation Format — Poster or Oral
  • Principal Investigator: Full Name, Email, Cell Number, Landline

2Academic Abstracts

Academic abstracts should be structured and formatted under the following headings:

  • Introduction / Background
  • Aim
  • Materials and Methods
  • Results
  • Conclusions
The abstract should be informative and completely self-explanatory. Briefly present the topic, state the scope of the discourse, indicate significant data, and point out major findings and conclusions. The abstract should not exceed 400 words in length. Complete sentences, active verbs, and the third person should be used, and the abstract should be written in past tense. Standard language should be used and abbreviations should be avoided. No literature should be cited. Abstracts acceptable for this conference include academic research, case studies, audits, systematic reviews, and best practice articles.

3Non-Academic Abstracts

Non-academic abstracts should include work that introduces new ideas, conceptualizations, research, and understandings to the field, as well as analysis of both success and failure. Their content should cover:

  • Issues: A summary of the issue(s) addressed by the abstract.
  • Description: A description of the intervention, project, experience, service and/or advocacy.
  • Lessons Learned: Conclusions and implications of the intervention or project. Data that support the lessons learned and evidence must be included.
  • Next Steps: Possible next steps for implementation, or recommendations.

How to Submit

All abstracts should be submitted using the online form on the Abstracts page or by email to abstracts@mhczambia.org with the subject line: “Abstract Submission — [Name of Main Author]”.

Submissions close on 30th June 2026 at midnight.

Important Notes

  • Only abstract submissions meeting the above guidelines and conditions will be considered.
  • An email reply to acknowledge receipt of an abstract will be sent within 48 hours.
  • All original papers must be accompanied by a declaration stating that the abstract represents work done originally by the authors and, if it has been published, where it has been published.
